strut present an inspired new afro-electronic project for 2016, kondi band, a collaboration between sierra leonean kondi (thumb piano) player sorie kondi and us producer / dj chief boima, who himself has sierra leonean roots. the project was spawned after boima happened upon an online video of one of sories original tracks. sorie kondi is a blind musician with a will to thrive like no person i have met before, explains boima. my work with him began with a youtube link. i spotted the video for his track without money no family and was struck by his beautiful vocals and socially-conscious lyrics. these incredible melodies he was playing on his namesake thumb piano (the kondi) sealed the deal: i immediately decided to remix it.

hans berg and johanna knutsson return to the ufo station with their fourth release, a powerful trippy trip, through warped time and space. and guess who was waiting for them at the station? well,none other than fellow space traveller dungeon acid, who delivers a remix that just might knock your space pants off. the title track alien power is obviously inspired by the quantum fusion core phase shift warp power engine that drives the ufo station, a steady beat to keep you on the right side of the force, whereas the dungeon acid remix is a musical interpretation of the great warp speed interdimensional flux mishap of the year 2216. the track dubby is so named because it inherently describes the core feeling of the track! alien choirs and synched synths meet long delay lines in this dreamy piece.

severence is an electronic sound artist who lives in spain. mensch 003 experiments with various forms of chaotic sound & signal generation to create dense chaotic sound fields and other more relaxed ambient soundscapes. all tracks were recorded live in one take using a eurorack modular synth, a mixing desk and various effects pedals (no overdubs or post processing in the computer).

about a year ago nico stojan and acid pauli met at the studio to record some music. while doing so they discovered their common love for sample based production. so they were basically digging into old vinyls and eventually these three tracks came along. nothing more to say, but enjoy. call of the valley is the first release on the new label ouie: there has been a shift in this tiny piece of massive world and, like all other shifts, they are documented by those who were there. ouie is the label to do just that, created by the people who were there, making those shifts.

nightime drama is proud to present a 3 track ep from yoshihiro arikawa, featuring a remix by aubrey. the tokyo based producer yoshihiro arikawa is known for a compound of minimal and 90 s ghetto house, releasing a series of critically heralded eps on logistic in france, kb and his own label kodaira tracks under his alias d kawa between 2003 and 2009. after a short hiatus, arikawa restarted the activities under his real name and has revealed a new aspect of his music on a number of releases from international labels such as affin, hypnotic room, labyrinth, m_grey, toffler sound and swap. his first release on nightime drama comes with a remix from aubrey who is no stranger to any techno lover�s ears. with over 25 years in the industry, he has been involved with some of the biggest names in the business and brings a funky energetic remix to the release.

the three tracks travel in many different directions. speaking directly to all the dreamers, the result is a surprising cross-over in which synthesized european music gets injected by imaginary tropical visions. the record is opening with the inner mind percussive ambient « chekema », an animistic incantation that will please all those who see parties as modern ritual gatherings. the jazzy wave of « get enough » cracks open the b-side. it�s a foggy street jam in which the cold cr-68 rhythm balances perfectly with the warm organ chords of the crumar. closing things off is the spectral reggae song �love so high�, a desperate cry from a polar explorer stranded on an iceberg drifting towards the carribean. heartbreaking.

death waltz recording company is proud to exhume another classic from the hammer horror stable in the shape of �dracula a.d. 1972�. bringing the legend of bram stoker s immortal creation into then-present day, the film pits the charismatic count up against the disco decade after being resurrected by a group of hippies performing black magic, with cristopher lee and peter cushing reprising their signature roles. composing this madness was mike vickers, former member of 60�s pop quiet manfred mann, who provided a suitably contemporary score that followed in the footsteps of jazz scores from that era.

the debut release from new label, music makes us, comes from prolific producer ekkohaus. a man who needs no introduction with previous releases on the likes of moonharbour, morris audio, circus company, 2020vision and liebe detail. he delivers a blistering 3 track acid tinged ep which kicks off with block parties (dark entry), a driving acid bassline with a great vocal layered on top. -show you saw- on the b-side is a grooving acid house track, whilst the wack finishes off this debut release in syncopated style.

** ltd 2016 repress ** the next release on fofs deeper house offshoot sees the labels roster swell to include two producers who are ascending the ranks, their recent >gruff it< track on the hotter than hot >visionquest< label has turned a heads and they look set to continue their upward trajectory. matthew has also released solo projects on john shepheards >retrofit< label as well as providing the debut release for sammy ds >ultrastretch< label. not only that but matthew is currently in the middle of his summer residency at berlins much revered club der visionaere. >take me away< is a pure slice of chord driven deep house and as such is a slight departure for the duo, the melodies inclining towards more melancholic feelings. remixes come from recent fof favourite scahtrax who strips the track right back, injecting a booming bass heavy kick drum & atmospherics to lend the track a more hypnotic tone. label co-owner blm injects a dubbier feel into his take on the flip. finally, matthew burton goes solo for >tell them phill sent ya< - a loose limbed dancefloor workout reminiscent of perlon in their pomp.

francesco tristano really needs no introduction lately, his music speaks volumes and his reputation precedes him with that said we are happy to share place on lafayette with you once again, this time including some stunning remixes. the first one is a collaboration between two highly respected artists: thomas gandey and radio slave. the two take the track further into tech-house territory with the percussion driving while multiple layers begin the fall into one another, achieving a beautifully elegant and jazzy end result. gutis vision is much deeper, with hints of dub here and there as the artists drives the tension up and creates a stunning groove. the final remix come from tuff city kids, who are known for their sometimes unconventional approach to making music, and in this case, it works. they channel a raw vibe and create something that is quite possibly the furthest thing from the original in terms of percussion. the pianos keep the thread strong, and the rhythm takes care of the rest.

who would have thought that gerd janson and phillipp lauer, aka the tuff city kids, delivering a rocker mix for alter ego, wich is not only one of their best up to this date remixwork, but also probably one of the biggest electro-summerhits in 2016. the tuff city kids production work is quite similary eclectic like in roman flügel and jörn elling wuttkes original version.

vilena records is 5 years old and decided to celebrate with its first vinyl with 4 tracks. side a is characterized by dub sounds and two tracks: the first one by matt star, german artist who manages repeat music and has productions on labels such as cocoon records, kling klong and many others, the second track is by alex veronesi and paolo mosca aka rejekt. side b is composed of two tech house tracks: the first is by stan garac, spanish artist class 83 that has collaborate with labels like viva music and hall of fame, while the second track is by one of the greatest artists of vilena records, massimo pozzi aka max (italy).
